A man told me that he did two years in solitary confinement
Two years where for 23 hours a day he was locked in a cell by himself
All he had to his name was removed from him
He had a pen but only the soft piece; the bendable ink tube
He was given paper occasionally and maybe a book to read once a month
For an hour a day they allowed him to spend time in the yard for physical activity which involved pacing and maybe very supervised weightlifting
But still, alone
He ate all meals alone in his cell for two years
He was clearly traumatized by this, there was no reformation
He said the worst was at night when he could hear the wails and crys of the other inmates who were also in solitary
This is a very clear picture of the disturbing and inhumane levels that the American Justice System has stooped to
Brutality and torture to uphold absolute injustice and denial of Human Rights
